The BovINE Network Project funded for three years by the EU from 2020 to 2022 created knowledge and materials to drive sustainability of the European beef farming sector.
Thank you to all members of the BovINE Network for contributing to that body of knowledge, freely available on this website and the BovINE Knowledge Hub (BKH) which houses the ‘on farm’ Practice Abstracts (PAs).
BovINE’s organisation and approach together with the knowledge accumulated has been summarised in the BovINE Magazine which has now been published.
A Policy Brief is available that demonstrates the links between BovINE’s results and the EU’s Farm-to-Fork Strategy.

The aim of BovINE was to create accessible and tested information for beef farmers for implementation ‘on farm’ to drive sustainability. To achieve this aim, BovINE Practice Abstracts (PAs) have been created and are freely available on the BovINE Knowledge Hub (BKH). To complement this online resource, a Catalogue of Practice Abstracts listing all PAs and organised via the four BovINE themes and topics has been created as an accessible download (click on the image)
The work of the BovINE Network Project was driven by the Grass Roots Needs (GRNs) collected direct from farmers across the nine European countries. The full list of GRNs is available here. Priority topics were selected from this list to focus the work of the Technical Working Groups and Network Managers to create the PAs.
To enhance access to BovINE’s knowledge a range of visual materials has been created.
Eight animations covering priority needs as expressed by farmers can be accessed here (click on the image) plus twelve webinars, three for each of the four themes, available below.
Of particular interest to European agencies and institutes working to secure the sustainability of the European beef farming sector, a Policy Brief is available that demonstrates the links between BovINE’s results and the Farm-to-Fork Strategy.
