9th International Beef Forum - 27th January 2023

BovINE’s partner – the Polish Beef Association – invites you to join them along with the Beef Sector Council and co-organiser, the Federation of Agricultural Producers Union, at the 9th International Beef Forum ‘Sustainable beef – high quality, animal welfare, clean environment’.

The event will take place online and in person on 27th January 2023.

The role of the CAP and the National Strategic Plans for the CAP in the transformation of the beef industry will be discussed, taking into account the improvement of cattle welfare, the reduction of active substances in animal treatment, the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and better quality management, as well as the social role of livestock.

In answering these challenges, the role of rapid transfer of knowledge and innovative solutions from science to practice is extremely important. Your participation in the forum will make it possible, on the one hand, to adapt to regulatory needs and, on the other hand, to the expectations of producers and manufacturers in connection with market changes.

Special guests attending the forum include the EU Agriculture Commissioner Janusz Wojciechowski and Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Henryk Kowalczyk of Republic of Poland.

The event will be held in Polish, with simultaneous translation available in English, both online and in person in Warsaw.

BovINE gets its message across on beef farming and sustainability

Success for BovINE’s final dissemination conference in Brussels

Brussels, 1 December 2022: Over 250 delegates from the beef farming community across Europe gathered online to hear from BovINE partners, whilst influential EU policy-players from DG Agri, DG Sante, Copa-Cogeca and EUFRAS attended an in-person presentation in the afternoon at the project’s final dissemination conference.

Online presentations by partners focused on sharing good practice solutions from across the project’s four themes of animal health & welfare, socioeconomic resilience, production efficiency & meat quality and environmental sustainability.   Simultaneous translation into Spanish, Dutch, Estonian, French, German, Italian, Polish and Portuguese ensured effective knowledge exchange with the European beef farming community.

DG AGRI’s Diego Canga Fano, newly appointed lead on Research, Outreach and Geographical Indications and BovINE’s guest speaker said:

“DG AGRI recognises and appreciates the valuable work of BovINE in providing evidence-based knowledge to create solutions for farmers as well as insights for policymakers and all stakeholders. BovINE’s innovations will contribute to ensuring that livestock production plays its part in securing a sustainable and circular food system.”

Information on the research innovations and good practices generated by the network and the ‘on farm’ demonstrations arranged by partners are available to access on the BovINE Knowledge Hub (BKH). The project’s website provides links to a wealth of additional resources including animations, webinars and multi-language materials accessed via the country flags of the nine partner countries.

BovINE’s Co-ordinator Maeve Henchion concluded:

“With targeted policy interventions, and support from farm and specialist advisors, the solutions identified by the BovINE network, and freely available on the BovINE Knowledge Hub, are ready for implementation on beef farms throughout Europe.”

The recording of the morning session of the conference, in English, can be seen in the video window or via this link https://youtu.be/mSCeBNqx3fU.
